Deleting it is not a good idea. I would advise that you download the installer for it reinstall it and then uninstall it. For an Anti Virus I recommend that you use AVG Anti Virus there is a link in my signature.

Tried that, but would not install correctly because of the existing corrupt files. Any other ideas?

What error do you get when you try to uninstall it?
