Hello <_<

Recently I opened Internet Explorer only to find that a few popups asked me to start downloading AdDestroyer and VirtualBouncer with a YES and NO button. I found this odd because my Google toolbar has been largely effective in blocking popups. I tried to X it but it was not working. So I clicked NO
and a few minutes later it said I had to restart the computer in order for the programs to be effective. I shut down my computer right away.

When I started it again, two AdDestroyer icons appeared on the toolbar (right lower hand part of screen). I knew that these spyware programs were installed. Pissed, I searched in google for ways to get rid of it.

I went to Program Files and deleted both folders of the programs. I downloaded the most recent AdAware reference file and ran AdAware. It found several AdDestroyer and Virtual Bouncer files, and deleted them. There seemed to be 2 files that couldn't be deleted but it prompted me that it could delete it on next reboot. I clicked OK.

In Add/Remove Programs, the two programs that were there before, AdDestroyer and VirtualBouncer seem to be gone.

But my computer is acting all messed up now: Internet Explorer keeps shutting down for some reason and closing, webpages are not loading properly, I am all of a sudden low on virtual memory unable to open things or perform tasks, your homepage appared to be blinking and flashing....Internet Explorer brings up error messages and is just extremely screwy..

ANY help I could get would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thank you :D

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

Thank you so much guys for your responses and care.
Actually my computer seems to be working as before...almost normal even. I don't know how or why. <_<

But I ran HijackThis still and maybe you could look to see if anything is still wrong.

Thanks again; you guys rock.

Looks good, just a little cleaning up to do. Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked:
C:\WINDOWS\Nhksrv.exe
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster and IE/Spyad. Both are free programs. SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed and consumes no system resources. IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will impair attempts to infect your system.

More info and download is available at:
SpywareBlaster: http://www.javacools...areblaster.html
IE/Spyad: http://www.staff.uiu...es/resource.htm
