Hey guys, I have a very weird problem going on which I'm not sure is fixable without a reformat :tazz:

Problem:

The problem is, there is this mysterious program that opens and closes very quickly at a certain interval. How do I know? It pops up on the bottom toolbar for a split second -- it has no name, and no distinguishing mini-icon... just a generic window.

I've been able to isolate a specific point when it occurs and that's when I first enter windows after a reboot. I've tried sitting in task manager trying to nab the name of the process but it doesn't even show up it's so quick.

When it does execute, it becomes the active window for a split second (alt tabbing me out of any game I was in, and at night, it interrupts the screen saver/powersave cycle, forcing me to shut my monitor off physically in order to conserve energy.

Suspicions:

I'm not even 100% sure this is a malicious program, it might be a side-product of some of the drivers I have installed on the system, though I have no way of knowing.

It could be a data miner that connects to the internet, uploads its findings (when the window activates), and goes inactive again

I've run every scan I know, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Microsoft Anti-Spyware, McAfee, Panda Active Scan, -- u name it, I've run it.

Please help! :)

Your log is clean, congratulations.

It may be something with your drivers, I see a bunch of driver related entries in there. I am going to move your thread to the OS Forum since its not malware related, one of the folks over there should be able to help you out.

Alright, thanks. Yeah I'm still getting the problem -- Next step since I guess it's not malware is to selectively disable certain drivers and their related processes and startup items to see which one is doing it.

I just found this topic (as well as this message board) via a google search on this exact problem.

My problem is exactly as described in this topic, a mysterious program suddenly opens and then closes again. Same problems with being tabbed out of any video game, screen saver interruptions, etc.

Anyone know what the heck is going on? I'd really like to get rid of this, as some of my games crash when i try to go back to them after being tabbed out.

I'm clueless here....
