:tazz: Ok, I got HJT on my other comp and Symantec Antivirus Corp. gets rid of the virus but as soon as I get on the internet again it comes right back. Heres my log.

Hi and Welcome to G2G

Please make sure you include the header in your next log.

Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run the following tools. Download and update the databases on each program before running.Also make sure you are using the the latest version (1.99.1) of HijackThis and it's installed in it's own folder on the root drive. (C:\HJT)

Please go to at least two of these sites and run an online Virus Scan.
Be sure to have the AutoFix box(s) checked.

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible.
Please make sure system restore is enabled by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn OFF System Restore and make sure it’s NOT checked. We want system restore ON and monitoring your current hard drive. Once your clean we will turn this off and then back on to remove the infection from the restore folder and create a clean restore point.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Open add/remove programs and remove WildTangent if listed.

Go to Start->Run and type Services.msc then hit Ok

Scroll down and find the service called: Microsoft Display (MSDPY)

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows.

Check and fix the following in HijackThis if they still exist (make sure you do not miss an entry)

Please run an online scan at http://www.pandasoft.../activescan.htm
Make sure you click the ”Free Online Virus Scan” in the upper right hand corner of the page under the Free use Activescan header. We do NOT want the default spyXposer scan.
Once it has finished save the activescan log. Then post that log in your next post along with a new hijackthis log.

Hey, just have a question about some of the Instructions. I'll be going through these steps later today but I was wondering if the removal of the R0's and R1's was really necessary since the computer is a HP and well at least to me it seems like those are really that bad of a thing. :tazz: I might be totally wrong but just would like to know what's up with that part. Thank you for the help you have given me.

No..If you want to keep them thats fine. They are however a redirect to HP sites. Meaning most people use a legit search engine (like google, Excite..ect) that doesn't serve you tainted results such as a propertiatry search tool such as HP's. If you don't want to fix those entrys...then leave them be but proceed with the rest of the fix.
