Outlook Express and Windows Registry Scan errors

This is my first time so please be patient with me. My Outlook Express, when I click on, messages are blank. When I did a One Button Checkupon Norton/Symantec is received 24 errors in Invalid Active x/com Entries. Also, 30 errors found in shortcut scan which I don't have in front of me since nothing can be printed. And, I cannot read pdf files...anywhere. It did say No Errors in Virus Scan. I was told to uninstall Adobe and reinstall which I tried and would not work. I am not real technical so please explain carefully. I have been working on this for 6 days now by notifying techs from cable co., Norton, Windows etc. to no avail.
