I have followed several different forums and found no relief. Norton anti virus continues to tell me access denied to the virus infecting my pc. object name c:\windows\sys32\wininet.dll virus name is w32desktophijack. I've had enough. it's now to the point when i open IE I an directed to a [bleep] site. I have downloaded hijack this and will post a copy. somebody please help me.

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
