Hi!

I just found out I have a Malware virus! And my McAfee can't delete it! So i searched at google and i came here! I hope you'll dahhlings will help me deleting this stupid thing!!

Hi there Diiva and welcome.
Please go to Add/Remove programs and click on MessengerPlus3 to uninstall it, You should get a pop up asking if you want to uninstall Messenger plus or just the sponser programs,
Choose to uninstall the sponser programs, Reboot your machine when is have completed.
Please post back a fresh HJT log and if you would please
Please click this link to download Silent Runners.
* Save it to the desktop.
* Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
* You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done yet, just let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
* Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", double-click on the new text file on the desktop and copy that entire log and paste it here.

*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Hi there! Thanks a lot! But i think it's already gone

I've downloaded a newer version of McAfee, I did the scan all over again and the virus/trojan *whatever* gave up! I could finally quarantined it and removed it. Eventually I did the scan again and there was no more virus! So i think it's gone?
Or...... do you recommend it to do your thing anyway? Let me know!

Could I see a fresh HJT log and a silents runners log just the same please,
We are seeing quite a few of these and would be good to know what took care of it.
Did you download updates from McAfee or a newer version entirely ?

I can still see signs of it running, The problem with this infection it drops files into a number of randomly named folders under different user names,

Could you go to Add/Remove program and click on Messenger Plus, click remove and it should give you an option to remove Messenger plus or its sponser programs, Remove the sponser programs, Reboot your computer, Post back a fresh HJT log and a fresh Silent runners log please

I m going to review these logs now, But did you try and remove messenger plus through Add/Remove programs ?

And bikeglue neither

Looks like you got everything now,
Is McAfee still giving alerts ?
Also did McAfee recommend upgrading in order to remove the "Malware u " ?

Please use the following suggestion to help prevent reinfection

Download the following program, For keeping crap off your system to begin with
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Download Spyware Blaster

Keep AD-Aware. and Spybot 1.3 handy, Check them for updates prior to running and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

For an added check run an online virus scan, you can use one of the 2 below,
TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
Click Start | Run | type in cleanmgr | OK

Let it scan your system for files to remove.

Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.

Press OK to remove them.

Remeber to Check Windows for updates

Probably a good time to create a new restore point See Here for XP
