After the usual rounds of uninstalls/installs of NG10, EVENTUALLY found that BlackIce Proventia Desktop Protection Version 8.0.675.1720 firewall was causing the problem (this firewall has "application protection"). [Originally, was using WinXP SP2's built-in firewall]

Anyway, if you are running any kind of firewall, other than the built-in Windows XP SP2 firewall, you might try and turn it off !

I wanted to thank you guys for posting this information because it helped me solve my problem with Norton Ghost 10. I have been doing a fresh replatforming of my computer, and had installed Norton Ghost 10 and created a couple of Recovery Points to a networked, mapped, drive location on another PC on my home netowrk. Today, I went to do another Recovery Point, but I was encountering these similar problems (after about 20 seconds of creating a Recovery Point, Norton Ghost would error out ). Sample:

Since my last successful Recovery Point, I had installed MS Office and also the Panda Titanium Antivirus 2005. After reading the point above, I decided to un-install Panda. Trying to create a Recovery Point after this worked without a problem. I had previously tried to deactivate the Panda Firewall, and in fact, all the features of Panda, but Norton Ghost kept on giving the same problem.

Anyway, I created my Geeks To go account today, just to post this update on this thread because I thought it might help others.

The problem went away when I re-install my OS and Ghost 10 without Norton Antivirus. I know this makes no sense, but that's what happen. Nothing else was different in the new install; but of course, I guess I can't be 100% sure of that. Since the new install though, Ghost 10 has worked very well (no thanks to Symantec's Tech Support who was completely useless).

I had the same problem with the coppy error and other copy errors on Ghost. After removing all partitions and copying all 4 partitian I at a time and the addition of a drive letter in one case, I nor have a perfect copy of the whole drive.

Thats the trick!! I'm not exactly sure how to tell when the chkdsk "comes back clean" but keep running it several times and that fixes the problem. Thanks LatinLover1!!!!!
