Have you got Norton AV or System Works
Is it a trial version or full product, if full product, was it from a download or installed from CD

coporate editon installed from CD (however no CD anymore !)

Look in add / remove for Live Update, if it has this then go to Symantes site and download Live Update for the version you have
This should install over the top of the existing version of live update
Unfortunately, repair or re-install will require access to the CD

thks but now my virus scan puts up error message Symantec Antivrus could not access scan engine ensure product is properly installed

Go to add / remove, click change for Norton, then see if it has options to modify / repair

The Installation CD, I note you no longer have it but are you able to get it
