Hi,

I went through all the different things and even got rid of a couple of pop-ups throught hijack this. I have one more that's left that I can't really tell is malware. Can you take a look at this one and let me know which of the processes and reg keys i should get rid of? What's happening is that one page keeps popping up from m0p.com and then if we're offline a whole bunch of windows warnings come up saying that I can't open the page do I want to work offline. Then when you close, a BUNCH more pop up.

Let me know the ones I need to get rid of.

By the way, I tried to run CW Shredder and it didn't work I get an error saying cwshredder.exe is not a valid win32 application. So that's the only thing I haven't run yet. I downloaded it from here so... let me know. Thanks! I always appreciate your help.
- Judy

Hi jluvlee,

Lets start with the first infection:

Please download LQfix.exe from one of the following locations:
  • http://www.downloads.subratam.org/LQfix.exe
    http://miekiemoes.geekstogo.com/tools/LQfix.exe

  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double-Click LQfix.exe and click Next > Next > Install.
  • Leave the default settings, if you change them, the fix will Fail!
  • You need an active Internet Connection, so make sure your you're not blocking any connection now.
  • Now make sure the "Launch LQfix" box is checked.
  • Click the Finish button, after clicking the Finish button the fix will start.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Your system will reboot afterwards.
  • Please be patient after the reboot, there is a script running in the background that needs to complete.
Then do a scan with HiJackThis and post a new log by using Add Reply

This is what I got as the result of the upload:

The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file

Is this what you were expecting? What should I do next?

Hi Leena,

None of the files were present after searching. Does that mean we're done? Thanks for all your help so far.

Great Job :tazz: Your Log is Clean!

We have a couple of last steps to perform and then you're all set.

First, let's reset your hidden/system files and folders. System files are hidden for a reason and we don't want to have them openly available and susceptible to accidental deletion.* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading UNSELECT Show hidden files and folders.
* CHECK the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Next, let's clean your restore points and set a new one:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)1. Turn off System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Restart your computer.

3. Turn ON System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
[/list]System Restore will now be active again.
