downloaded files are corrupt...?

Hello!

I'm not too sure what is wrong with this laptop.. but for some reason, when I download something, it always seems to be corrupt.

For instance, I ordered Norton Antivirus for download, and it always seems to download corrupt versions.. Another is I tried to download Spybot Search and Destroy.. that turned out to be corrupt. Same for the Google toolbar as well as Yahoo.. and Yahoo's Security Suite.. and AVG.. and the Trend Housecall won't work..

So anyway, I was wondering if someone could look at my HijackThis file.. since something is wrong with this computer but I don't know what.

*oh yeah.. i did a scan with:
- ad-ware se, but it didn't turn up anything 'malicious' except tracking cookies
- microsoft antispyware, but it didn't turn up anything at all

and i have no antivirus.. which is why i was trying to get norton and the yahoo one

Hi aninstance...

First thing we need to do is get you protected until we can sort this out. Bare with me....

Uninstall the corrupt Norton from Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Uninstall the main application first, then Live Update, then Live Reg. There is still going to be a bunch of Norton to get rid of, but we'll get that later.

After we get all the Norton off, we'll be able to get a good reinstall, but it's important that we get all of it...which will take some time.

Download Avast AV and see if it will install.
