Please help. New to forum. Not extremely computer savy. Hit with winfixer and now have popups, very slow boot, startup IE, and general slowness of programs opening. Followed instructions for installing and launching spybot, ad-aware, cwshredder-but didn't load right-didn't use, ewido, did windows update (SP1a), ran norton antivirus. Hi there! Thanks for helping me. Ran the vundofix, and spyXposer. Here is the hijackthis log and spyXposer log. Hijackthis log now shows the ...fcyyx.dll file as missing and now a trj/Hooker in spXposer????

Ok here goes the log. Hope I did it right! By the way, after the initial vundofix, it preformed better when I went into safe mode. Initially, it was all messed up.

Hi there. Windows search found nothing. Great. Downloaded Spyblaster. Having some difficulty with the hosts download. Couldn't find it in my C drive without searching for it. I will try again with the instructions (and boy, do I need them since I'm not extremely computer savy!) Anyway, I'm still working on it. Already did the disable resore. Just a few housekeeping things left with the tools I used. Thanks again. If I have continued trouble with the hosts download, I'll post again.
So far, not having those dreaded long boots, popups, IE commandering, etc. Looks all well. By George, I think you cured her!!! Thanks again for your help!!!!!!

I know that Hosts File installation can be tricky and Yes,we all need as much help as possible!

Go ahead and Renable System Restore,this will clear out all the old nasty Restore Points and create a nice new clean one as soon as you restart.
