connecting to wireless network

ok....my school has a wireless network....can i buy a wireless router and simply connect to it to my computer ethernet port......and then it will work? please help.....the evil admin of the network has a firewall that will not let me do anything......so i need to use the wireless....thanks

even if you got a router, you would still have to go through the "evil ones" network to do anything. Make friends with the evil one....................
