Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
• This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.

I did the restart after vundofix, and immediately got the awvvs.dll popup from my McAfee. I guess the scans should show if it worked or not, but i dont know if it did.

A new Vundofix was released in the meantime.
The procedure is a bit different. So follow it carefully and most importantly, download the latest version after removing the old one.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

Set the program up as follows:

Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

I'm back, but i think it's getting worse. I did the killvundo, but when i ran Hijack this, those files werent there. There were two a lot like them in their place, though. I'm guessing its another type of vundo file that i'll have to do the same thing for? I didn't do anything yet, though. I guess you'll see from the scan results

Bah. It looks like it got updated to the latest version..

We'll have to repeat the procedure and block the replacement it will try to put in place.

First. The protection. There are several programs that will stop a new BHO.
But since this will also change the Winlogon key
I would prefer you to use SpywareGuard
Note that spywareguard will also warn you when we remove the MSEvents BHO.
So read the prompts carefully and act accordingly.

These are the paths to enter in the VundoFix

Do a full scan with a fully updated spyware- or virusscanner to check for any files that were left behind.

Let me know if SpywareGuard alerts you about a new BHO that wants to get installed.
Stop the installation if you don't trust it.
