lately my computer has been freezing at random. it will freeze all applications but the focused one. brining up the taskmanager and closing it resolves the hang or freeze everytime. my left click also likes to be a right click sometimes, this is resolved by right clicking once and its back to normal. i also sometimes cant drag and drop. i backed up my files and reformated...not once not twice but three times with no difference, it cant be virus or spyware related, any ideas? Thanks in advance :tazz:

Hi piles! Welcome to G2G!

If you have your Windows XP CD handy, please put it in your cd-rom drive and then go to START-->RUN and type sfc /scannow. Please note the space between sfc and /scannow. What this will do is check your operating system files and replace any that are missing/corrupt.

Also, is your computer updated with Service Pack 2? If not then I suggest you go to Windows Update and get all the Critical updates listed. Keep returning until there are none left to get.

If you are still having problems after doing the above mentioned tasks, then please post in here and we will pursue other methods.
