Hello -- I want to install a new 300 GB Seagate Barracuda in my old computer that already has two hard drives. I bought the Gateway 500X in March 2002 and it came with an 80 GB 7200 RPM Western Digital hard drive which I set up as the master. I just installed the hard drive from my previous computer as a slave. Everything was fine until I just ran out of disk space on the 80 GB HD (working with music and videos), so I bought the 300 GB HD.

I want to use the new 300 GB HD as the master and the 80 GB as slave. How do I get all the files and programs onto the new HD and set it up as a the master?

I can supply any other information as needed, just let me know.

With much thanks, in advance! :tazz:

You can use the software provided by Seagate to make an image of your old drive onto the new one. If your drive didn't come with the software you should be able to download it from the Seagate website. this is much easier than making a new installation and it saves all your settings and programs.
