My home computer has recently been infected with PS GUARD. I can not run any programs at all. I ran the uninstall of PS GUARD remover, but everything is frozen. I can only access the "new task" function from within task manager. How do I get rid of this virus using only that function? Can I get rid of it using on that function?

Hi gramps1425...Welcome to G2G!
Let's let the Malware Experts deal with this!
Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the Start Here.
That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.
Please be patient...they are very busy in that forum....

Hi wannabe1,
I can not download anything straight to my PC, as it will not let me access that function. I am currently using a work internet connection on a different PC.
Are there any other suggestions other than downloading a program?

HiJackThis will fit on a floppy. Can you download the others and transfer them via CD? Running a few of them might get you running well enough for the Malware folks to get you fixed up.
