I'm horrible at math. It's easily my best subject, but I NEVER pay attention. Anyways, I'm in 8th grade Algebra.

You didn't say age (it's not like you have to). For all we know, you could be in 1st grade! :tazz:

Perpendicular lines aren't that bad. Just take -1/m (m is the slope of the line you have to find the line perpendicular to).

Wow the maths guys did a number on you, i know a few guys from school that have did astrophysics and i do the same maths classes as they do at uni, and every one fo them hates it, its not what you think it will be like apparently. And then there is the fact that there is no jobs in astrophysics(well not alot like a tenth of the number of graduates at best). You have to think of the future and how you are going to support yourself.

In my school, there are two freshman in Algebra II, I started off in Honors Geometry, but when I look back, I was really bored and knew probably 95% of everything up to Calculus.

Sorry to get off topic,

Yeah, a lot of people are warning me about that. That's why I'm also considering anything in the IT field.

I agree with what dsenette said, that math is far more fun. Even though i'm only a junior in high-school. ROFL!!

I'm in Honors Pre-Calc now, will take AP Calc senior year. And i will never enjoy math again!

At your school, is Honors Pre-Calc one semester only? It is for my school.

Pi rules--

Every math class at my school is a full year and one credit. I'm technically one year ahead of my class, most people take Pre-clac senior year. But there are like 30 other students in my year alone that are ahead as well. Not to brag, because i'm probably the worst one in my class.

At my school, we have block classes (90 minutes each) and 4 classes a day. The year is split into 4 "terms" and each term of a class counts as 1/2 credit. Honors Pre-Calculus was only 1 term, which I think is to let students take Honors Pre-Calc and AP (or regular) Calc 2nd and 3rd term. In my school, two freshman started out in Algebra 2, which I just took last (Sophomore) year. As I stated, I took Honors Pre-Calc already this year, and I am currently in AP Calc. I'm not sure about next year, because AP Calc is as high as my school offers. I can either take Calc 2 or Calc 3 off-campus next year, depending on if I take the AB or BC AP Test and what I get.

We have 7 52min class periods, and 8 classes, every day is a day 1-8, and if its a day 3 for example you would skip that class. I started with Honors Geometry, then H. Alg 2, then H. Pre-clac, and next year AP Calc. Most students will start with Alg 1, then continue the path as i took, (except non-honors classes, some take honors classes) and end up in pre-calc or FST senior year.

The classses are pretty much the same as my school...I noticed you live in Hartford; my aunt and uncle live very close to Hartford!

Edit: I just saw that I have 314 (pi * 100) posts...
