You guys were great helping me with a spyware problem a couple of months ago so I'm turning to you again, hoping that this question isn't too 'lame'...

I have about 6GB of data on my laptop (every email within Outlook for the past 7 years of work) that I need to save to an external device and then remove from my laptop which is pretty maxed out for space. I would also like to make regular backups of my harddrive going forward too, once this issue is addressed.

Is there a product that you can recommend that would allow me to do this easily and efficiently? I've checked around on the internet but don't know which one to go with. I would really trust whatever you guys recommend.

Thanks, once again, for your help!

Since no one else has bothered to help here I'll do what I can. Can you network the two machines?

That would probably be the easiest way to transfer the files. If you have a router you can do that. You can even do it with a cable connecting the two machines, but the router will be much easier, and it might be a good investment anyway. You need to set up file sharing for the folder with the files, you can disconnect the router from the Internet while you are moving the files and temporarily disable any firewalls.
