Everytime I start my computer, the New Hardware thing shows up and it says Printer. Than it goes to the New Hardware Wizard thing, to install the printer. My printer is already installed & it's working fine. How do I get rid of it, it keeps comin up even if I press cancel or next. I thought by clicking that it would stop comin everytime I start the comp, but it keeps showing up. I hope someone can help me how to get rid of it, THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I can't find the file, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\LPTENUM. I can find the system -> currentcontrolset -> enum than it doesnt have LPTENUM. It has some other stuff.

I see the M$ document says the problem occurs either of these conditions is true:
This problem may occur if one of the following conditions is true:
• The printer driver does not use Plug and Play for its installation.
• The following registry key has become damaged:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\LPTENUM

Have you checked for a driver update for your printer. This is the first step suggested in the document.

Why not disable 'plug and play' in the BIOS, if your bios has that option......
