Hi dhamal and welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums.

My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

1. Please DELETE your current HJT program from its present location.

2. Download and run the following HijackThis autoinstall program from Here . Please choose the default location of C:\Program Files\ as the destination. HJT needs to be in its own folder so that the program itself isn't deleted by accident. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!
  • Run HijackThis
  • Click SCAN and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')
  • POST the log into this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste')

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

Regards,

Trevuren

1. Please follow instructions provided in previous post regarding placement of HijackThis.

2. Once that is done:

A. Please download LQfix.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-Click LQfix.exe and click Next > Next > Install.
  • Leave the default settings, if you change them, the fix will Fail!
  • Now make sure the "Launch LQfix" box is checked.
  • Click the Finish button, after clicking the Finish button the fix will start.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Your system will now reboot afterwards.
  • Please be patient after the reboot, there is a script running in the background that needs to complete.
B. Now do a scan with HiJackThis and post a new log by using Add Reply

sorry but i had someone from the local university's computer department to come over and th ey thought that the best thing to do would be to disable polkapolka79.exe from the startup and the download zonealarm and make sure that polkapolka79 wasnt running and to defragment it. Now the computer is running VERY slowly and i still get popups but am not connected to the internet.

Get your firewall back on, reconnect to the internet and please run the fix.

Then post a fresh HJT log for review

Start by downloading this program to some removal media, as well as the instructions and run it on your computer. I would also suggest that you ask that "kind" person from the university to come and get you back online.

2. Now do a scan with HiJackThis and post a new log by using Add Reply

Regards,

Can't you get help getting back online from your INternet Service Provider. They should be able to walk you through it quite rapidly as it is their baby..
