I have an HP a817n with 2 cd drives

1 - Lite-On DVDRW SOHW-1633S BPSD
2 - Samsung CD-Rom SC-148A B402

And I recently was not able to read on either of them cd's that I had created using either Nero, Roxio or the WinMedia.

When I insert the disk and look in "My Computer" and click on the drives - nothing appears inside. BUT when I go to a different computer and do the same; it shows the files that are on the cd.

I have tried the following

a. looked through your forums to see if anyone else has similar problems - but i was overwhelmed
b. deleted the drives through the device manager and let the computer re-install them when I rebooted
c. attempted (not sure if it took it) to upgrade the firmware
