Hi, I'm doing a skit for my class right now and they want me help them edit some stuff in the video since I'm more of the computer guy. However, I'm not really familiar with video editing.

I right now have Virtual Dub which I heard is a quite popular program.

Basically, the editing would just include: adding music, cutting scenes, adding intro and credit scenes, and some subtitles.

I'm not exactly sure how to do some of these. Can anyone give some tips or have a good tutorial site for this kind of stuff? Thanks a lot!

The tutorial link is great and I would recommend using the free Windows Movie Maker included with Windows XP. I found it more than adequate for basic video editing and is very easy to use with it's "storyboard" workflow where you simply drag clips onto a filmstrip to order them.

Here are some tutorials specifically for WMM:

http://www.creativecow.net has some great tutorials for all programs.

Otherwise like gust0208 said, go for windows movie maker. Then add your clip and go to: Tools - Titles & Credits, its pretty straight forward.
