I followed your instructions to a T, and when I run the HIJACkthis in safe mode it shows it fixing the problems, when I come back out of safe mode it shows the problems still there.

I was unable to find the 02 BHO (no name) {00DBDAC8-4691-4707-8E6A-7C6AB89BC441} C:\WINDOWS\system32\geedd.dll in my processe's in safe mode, it was not there.

Also when I log on I get this message: Runner File Name (compaq connections.exe) lacks a (the app ID seperator)

And it will not allow me to run Fixvundo or Panda Active Scan.

Here is my latest log:

You say it will not allow you to run the vundofix. Do you get an errormessage?

I need to rerun the tool for the next instance of this infection.

When I open the folder it gives me five options, when I double click the option killVundo it brings up the blue screen that tells me that they are not responsible, if thats all I need then I am ready to proceed. Stabi

Let's give it another try.

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.
Please note: your Antivirus program may prompt you to a malicious script trying to run. Allow the entire script once.
  • Please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
  • You will first be presented with a warning.
    It should look like this

    VundoFix V2.15 by Atri
By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
    Press enter to continue....

  • At this point press enter one time.
  • Next you will see:

Please Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
    and then press enter:

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
    • C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\geedd.dll
  • Press Enter to continue with the fix.
  • Next you will see:

Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum
    staff then press enter:

  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ddeeg.*
  • Press Enter to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually.
  • In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00DBDAC8-4691-4797-8E6A-7C6AB89BC441} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\geedd.dll

    O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {FC148228-87E1-4D00-AC06-58DCAA52A4D1} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\sstqn.dll (file missing)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: geedd - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\geedd.dll

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: sstqn - C:\WINDOWS\system32\sstqn.dll (file missing)
  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis.
  • Press enter to exit the program then manually reboot your computer.
  • Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.
Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

When I run hijackthis is in safe mode some of those files are not showing, then the ones like 020-winligon that I can fix in safe mode are right back when I return to regular mode and do run hijackthis, I am lost and confused at this point. :tazz: Stabi

There's more of this infection around. Let's do it again.

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: awtqo - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtqo.dll

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: geedd - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\geedd.dll

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: sstqn - C:\WINDOWS\system32\sstqn.dll (file missing)
  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis.
  • Press enter to exit the program then manually reboot your computer.
Please rerun the Panda and post me:
the vundofix.txt
the Panda report
a fresh HijackThis log.
