It's unfortunate but I was recently caught downloading a movie by a movie company. My internet was temporary shut off which caused me to call my cable company. They told me about this and I must admit, I was scared. Then a few days later I got a letter in the mail saying I could be sued, etc. I'm a minor and obviously I can't pay a huge fine. Neither can my family. Can I go to juvie for this? Can I be sued? I have a lot of questions. Thanks in advance for any help.

Typically, they will just give you a warning. I'd suggest you remove any copyrighted material from your computer that you haven't obtained legally. If you continue to download illegal material, the next step is usually to shut off your Internet permanently.

Unless you're also sharing a large amount of movies/and or songs and software, they won't prosecute, or sue. Let this just be a lesson, and stop downloading copyrighted material that you haven't purchased.
