From buying eTrust PestPatrol, to downloading cleanup.exe, spyware doctor...already have Ad-Aware SE, spybot search and destroy, and HijackTHis. I just can't seem to get WinFixer 2005 off my computer. In addition, I have VirusScan, which keeps telling me that TUVVV.dll is on my computer, but it is unable to move/clean/delete the file. I found it in WinPatrol, deleted it, and immediately it came back. Can you please help? Thanks in advance...

First - THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me so quickly! I sincerely appreciate it.

Second - when I am in Safe Mode and after I type in the paths, the program tells me that it cannot locate HIJACKTHIS, and to do so manually by pressing the start key, but there is no start key to select and I'm not sure how else to locate it...Please help!!!!!!

thanks!!!

Right - I know Hijack This is on my desktop, but would you be able to tell me how I can manually find it while in Safe Mode, using KillVundo program? Would I type something like C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Hijack This...? It tells me to manually find it by pressing the "start" button and searching, but in Safe Mode, there is no "start" button.

Thanks in advance

Fix this in Hijackthis.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6DD0BC06-4719-4BA3-BEBC-FBAE6A448152} - (no file)

Then Your log is clean :tazz:

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
To protect yourself further:
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
I also suggest that you delete any files from "temp", "tmp" folders. In Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" => "Internet Options" => "Delete Files" and select the box that says "Delete All Offline Content" and click on "OK" twice. Also, empty the recycle bin by right clicking on it and selecting "Empty Recycle Bin". These steps should be done on a regular basis.

Delete the files.

C:\quarantine\A0032334.dll.Vir
C:\quarantine\byxww.dll.Vir
C:\quarantine\A0033351.dll.Vir

Then run active scan again and post the log it makes.
