HELP!

I am trying to figure out how to open serval ports so that i can use bit tornado and some other programs.
But no matter what i do i get nat errors and at best 1 or 2 kbs download speeds on DSL. I have a Westell 2100 wired modem. My router is a Linksys befsr41. I am at my wits end here i really hope someone can help.
