Hello Flogger and welcome to Geeks to go!

To be able to help you i'll need to know more about your PC.
Can you download and install Belarc Advisor.
Run it and it will analyse your PC and display a report, can you then either paste the log or attach it to your post.

Hi Zeus,

Thank you for your very quick reply.
I have carried out your suggestions and the report is attached.
I am thinking I can just get an old school graphics PCI card like a 128mb 5500 series card as a mate runs a 64mb 5500 card and plays COD2. However his connects through and AGP slot.

Anyway I will awaite your reply and then make a decision.
Thanks man.

i just joined this forum also, i have a Compaq SR1538X desktop which comes with the SiS 760 chipset and graphics. I get the same alpha blending error as everyone else. Seems like some are beatiing around the bush with a answer of how to fix this. I tryed updating my drivers, direct x and everything else but nothing works. Is my only option to buy a aftermarket graphics card, if so, whats a good one for a decent price

thanks alot

according to hp's specs for this system it has an agp port available. I would suggest something like:
nvidia 6600
nvidia 6800gs or better
ati x800xl or better

Hello YMS and welcome to Geeks to go!

You have an Intel graphics card and it simply isn't capable of running the game. You need to upgrade your graphics card!

your going to have to open your pc and look at the system board. there should be an offset port (normally colered brown, but will be a differnt color than the pci slots). It will have a little retention clip at one end.

I am having the problem with alpha blending...I have a somewhat new laptop with shared video. I glanced at intel's website and it says my card supports alpha blending, but maybe I was looking at the wrong place...

here is some of my computer info:

Controllers Display
Intel® 82801DBM Ultra ATA Storage Controller - 24CA
Primary IDE Channel [Controller]
Secondary IDE Channel [Controller] Intel® 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller [Display adapter] (2x)
CPT [Monitor] (October 2004)
Default Monitor
