Hi. I am new to all this, so if there is someone out there reading who can help, I thank you SO MUCH!!! i have recently some how got a virus that keeps medling with my internet explorer. everytime i load IE it comes up with this as homepage http://nonstopsearch.com/?b=pol. Even if I use a diff. browser, the same thing happens. It also makes it impossible to turn the computer off normally, and I have to push the button to turn off. I have tried everything I know of incl. Spybot, Add-Aware, Panda, etc It seems like I can get rid of the symptoms, but then everytime I turn on the machine, something in the startup makes it download the virus again. My Norton Software calls it a downloader.trojan.

Another person on Geeks to Go seemed to have a similar problem (here is the thread), but I don't think that I can follow that exact advice because my registry log is different.
