Hi loco:

First, I hope our Windows Firewall is on. Take a look in our Security Updates forum
http://www.geekstogo...pdates-f69.html

You will find alot of good freeware there; eTrust EZ AV; AntiVirus: AVG, AntiVir, avast
Firewall: ZoneAlarm & Kerio - there are others to find; not listed.
AntiSpyware: Microsoft AS, Spybot S&D; Ad-aware; SpywareBlaster;

I will move your post to "Applications" forum where you will receive more assistance.

Anti Spyware, 1, 4, 5 and 6 are the usual ones

http://www.filehippo...re/antispyware/

Firewalls, Zone alarm is a popular choice, you should turn the XP Firewall off after installing it if you want to use it

http://www.filehippo...ware/firewalls/

Anti Virus, AVG is a popular choice

http://www.filehippo...ware/antivirus/

As with firewalls, you should only run one of these

You can run online scans with an anti vurus programme installed
