I recently built a new system...

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 939
Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra 939
1 GB Kingston Ram
19 inch Sony LCD SDM HS-93 Monitor

and am experiencing computer lag and occational monitor flickers. After setting up bios and booting the computer for the first time, the computer flew. Recently though I have had problems with computer lag, etc. I did update the chipset drivers, video driver, then shortly after began experiencing this problem.

Any solutions on a fix?

dude, same here, i got the same motherbaord, exept i got a AMD FX-5 and 2 gb of corsair TwinX ram, and a GeForce 6800 Ultra, i bet it is the motherboard.....i don't get monitor flickers, but i got the lag, and slow loading programs
