I have been in this forum for a while and read through some instructions about removing spyware.

My laptop got the traditional problem: pop up advertisement frequently

I have tried quite a lot of anti-spyware tools you recommended and also applied the tradintional way (removing scanned files mannually, I have 2 operating systems, so~~)

Hijackthis, spyware doctor, counterspy, ad-ware,spy-sweeper, ewido, cleanup, spybot, spyware blaster, microsofter antispyware, look2me fix

And check out and removed lots of spyware:

1st Bar
findthewebsiteyouneed hijacker
apropos
cybervizion keylogger
look2me(this's the only spyware I'm sure I have removed)
..........(at least 5 that I can't remember)

But there may probably at least one anti-spyware in my system, checked out counterspy, but unable to remove it. (The anti-spywares I have setuped cannot find more)

cmdservice: scanned out by couterspyware:

I followed the instructions on the forum to use findit, following is the log:

Warning! This utility will find legitimate files in addition to malware.

Hi tysunset,

Your log looks clean..let's check for another infection,

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download AproposFix from here:
http://swandog46.gee.../aproposfix.exe

Save it to your desktop but do NOT run it yet.

Then please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop. Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. Follow the prompts.

When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode, and post a new HijackThis log, along with the entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Things changed quite a lot with my system now. At the begining of my post, my system got some problems with continuing pop up advertisement. That maybe due to the look2me spyware. After removing that using l2mfix, my system seems quite well now when browsing the Internet.

But probably because of the spyware problems, my system may be left behind some backdoors to the trojans. And I suffered a really severe attack last weekend. And the trojan spread from my laptop to the router in my house and then to other guys' computers. The typical situation at that moment is:

The computer runs quite slow.
Can not connect to the Internet.

Although we had reset the router and blocked the IP addresses and PORTs that may cause the attack, we are still afraid if there may be some other attacks.

I have done the checks you told me to do. Following is the log:

Log from aproposfix:

Ok, let's try a few scans, since you already have the programs, just skip the installation phases in the speeches below.

Please download WebRoot SpySweeper from HERE (It's a 2 week trial):
  • Click the Free Trial link under to "SpySweeper" to download the program.
  • Install it. Once the program is installed, it will open.
  • It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
  • Once the definitions are installed, click Options on the left side.
  • Click the Sweep Options tab.
  • Under What to Sweep please put a check next to the following:
    • Sweep Memory
    • Sweep Registry
    • Sweep Cookies
    • Sweep All User Accounts
    • Enable Direct Disk Sweeping
    • Sweep Contents of Compressed Files
    • Sweep for Rootkits
    • Please UNCHECK Do not Sweep System Restore Folder.
  • Click Sweep Now on the left side.
  • Click the Start button.
  • When it's done scanning, click the Next button.
  • Make sure everything has a check next to it, then click the Next button.
  • It will remove all of the items found.
  • Click Session Log in the upper right corner, copy everything in that window.
  • Click the Summary tab and click Finish.
  • Paste the contents of the session log you copied into your next reply.
Please download Ewido Security Suite (do NOT run it yet!)
  • Install ewido security suite
  • Launch ewido, there should be a big E icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
  • The program will now go to the main screen
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Click on Start
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed
  • After the updates are installed, exit Ewido
Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Once in Safe Mode:

Open Ewido
  • Click on scanner
  • Click Complete System Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean the first infected file it finds. Choose "remove", then put a check next to "Perform action on all infections" in the left corner of the box so you don't have to sit and watch Ewido the whole time. Click OK.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop
  • Exit Ewido
While still in safe mode, Create a Startup List[/u]
  • Open HiJackThis
  • Click on the "Config..." button on the bottom right
  • Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
  • Put a check to the 2 boxes next to the Box that says "Generate StartupList log"
  • Click on the button "Generate StartupList log"
  • Copy and past the StartupList from the notepad into your next post (it will be saved in the same folder with HijackThis)
So please post those 3 logs for me..if they don't fit in one post, make seperate posts.
