What are we supposed to do with the starving people, then? We can't let them suffer and starve to death.

They suffer even more and more

Why not, its either that or a war, people have been starving and warring for thousands of years but now in these days of relative peace and plenty people forget that there shouldnt be so many people on the planet. It sounds cruel but we can let them starve because it is good for us and it is good for the people that survive. We are defying the balance by having so many people and there just isnt enough resources to go round so either we all take a large step down the standard of living ladder or we stop artificially maintaining the population its doing nobody any good at all.

:)
The nature it's work in that way.?.
Example:
-The wolf eating the chickens
-The cat eat mouse..
Fight for survival
But i think that everyone that have a lot of money need to pay some for that people :tazz:

Honestly, there seems to be no quick and easy solution. The best thing IMO is to educate people about birth control methods and for countries to require that people only have a maximum of 2 kids (and I mean every country not just a few big ones like China, which already has a 1 kid rule I believe)

Ah but see then if you enforce that to everyone most of the countires in Europe would die out(Japan would as well) as we are a few steps ahead of most other cultiures and our populations have started shrinking we have a serious population problem in scotland we need more people not less. And the thin you want is to keep poulations at a level that can be locally self sustained.

China is at 1 per couple or 2-3 for rural areas, but that is causing bother as their culture puts males ahead of females so many baby girls are murdered by their parents.

oooo, this is a good topic. Teens need to start using protection like they are suppost to. That is alot of the problem now adays. It would also help the aids problem too.

George bush could send a plane filled with crates of condoms to other countries like africa, india ect..

He allready does, they dont like them, many of them are catholic as well which doesnt help. There definately isnt a lack of condoms in alot fo the developing world they even drop them out of planes, can you imagine what would happen if a hercules flew over your street and dropped a 100 000 condoms, it would be hilarious.

You are think JUST about your own country and that doesnt mean anything at all, its a question of resources we have only finite resources and we dont have enough to maintain the population we have in he lifestyle they want/demand. Even now it isnt possible, in not very long at all we shall be in a very sticky situation.

This is a problem that is caused by capitalism/greed. In a properly run communist government, the wealth would be distributed a lot more evenly, allowing everyone to be able to buy food and get a good education, supporting for the whole country rather than the weathy minority.

George bush could send a plane filled with crates of condoms to other countries like africa, india ect..

If money was taken away from useless departments such as NASA, and redistributed to buy food/housing for the population of the planet it would be better. For all the billions of dollars invested in NASA, they havnt done anything useful since they communications network went up. I think that rather than going to other planets, we should be going underground and trying to fix all the damage weve done to the planet.

There has yet to be a working communist government, nice principle but not something that is going to work in practice. You also have to factor in the point that A. most people dont like communism, and B. about a billion people would have to take a big step down the standard of living ladder, and they arent going to do that.

Nasa does put out alot of useful technologies that we use every day and take for granted, and you cant just stop exploration, it would be fundamentally unhuman, we are creatures that need to push to the next horizon the next limit, they need something to be proud of and aspire to.

Human beings will always strive to improve themselves and their soceity, you are never going to get anyone to give up the hard fought and well deserved hallamarks of their soceities in order to help people they dont know will never know people that for the most part dont want to know them in the first place.

If you start to push people into doing things like that, they wont say hey why dont we just help them, they will turn around and kill them securing their own position. Thats the way of human beings, thats the way of nature.

Life is cold hard, and if you are enjoying warmth and comfort you arent going to give that up.

Well, I don't know what kind of people you hang around (No offense intended here) with but I know that most of the people that I know share similar sentiments to me, especially on the NASA issue.

You are safe to say the first person i know that doesnt like NASA, but i am an senior air cadet and i love planes and technology. Alot of which we wouldnt have without nasa. And to be frank what else are you going to spend the money on, feeding the poor isnt going to fix the problem you couldnt buy enough food to give to them all so there isnt much point.

Mind you the money could be better spent on getting you americans a health system going. Although you have enough money to get one going now just you keep voting for the wrong guys.

And like i said you cant stop human endeavour, you cant have people just sitting like mindless robotsdoing nine to five jobs to keep the world ticking over we have to build the next biggest bridge and fly the next 1000 feet higher and go the next mach grade faster. We are never going to sit on our hands and do nothing new and not try to better ourselves which is what nasa and all the other space agencies are doing trying to better humanity through intelectual pursuits and developments.

And Nasa isnt all sending rockets into space most of the work they do is ground based developing new technologies to benefit us all, and its better they develop it as it reduces the cost because if a company had develped it we would have had to pay through the nose.

Ive also never met a communist either, met a few socialists, all daft as hatters to the last one. But no communists even the socialists admit its an ideal to be admired academicially but not practiced. The only way anything near communism works is if you have: A. free, cheap, plentiful renewable energy. and B. more resources than the population requires for everyone to have the same high standard of living. Otherwise it just doesnt work and never has worked not even once.

And people tend to draw people of a similar persuasion around them so its not a surpirse you and your friends share a similar opinion, i also dare say none of you have done much in the way of research or explored the subject on any depth from either side of the argument, because in a great many ways Nasa is actually the best solution to many problems, you allready pay vast sums of money to lockhead and boeing that Nasa used to do for half the price, and the reason people winged about nasa and they had to outsource the work to companies that charge more for the privelage and do a lesser job, the only difference the average punter doesnt see what the company is doing.

Well firstly, I'm Australian: maybe the culture here makes me think different to everyone else, but the way that a lot of us see it: we live in the best country, on the most hospitible planet that we know of, why go elsewhere?

I don't mind democracy so much, but I hate how capitalist governments in a lot of countries gear it so that the rich minority get richer and the poor majority get poorer. If youv'e studied economics youve probably seen this in the balance of wealth diagrams.
