My wife was AproposMedia on her PC. And we would like to not have to wipe it.
I now have this laptop in front of me and can work on it, I had tried working on this once before but had go go to her work to try fixing it. So i hope someone can help.

I also need to add winfixer to this!

I also have HijackThis, vundofix, and CleanUp already downloaded.

Thanks
Rod

Here is the HijackThis,

Welcome to GeeksToGo :tazz:

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download AproposFix from here:
http://swandog46.gee.../aproposfix.exe

Save it to your desktop but do NOT run it yet.

Then please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop. Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. Follow the prompts.

When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode, and post a new HijackThis log, along with the entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder.

it appears that what you're detecting is merely an orphaned registry entry. Try doing a full system scan with ad-aware (make sure to update the definitions) and see if you continue to get the messages

I did a full system scan with ad-aware, it shows nothing.
Panda activescan still shows the registry apropos.
what is it that recreates this? If everytime I do a scan and
this comes up I'll not do anything about it, because it's alway's there.
And then if I do get it back, I'll do nothing because it always shows up.

So what can we do?

And thanks for all your time

can you get me a full session report from spysweeper? That'll tell me specifically which key it is. While you're at it, enable "sacn for rootkits" in the scanning options, and see if it detects anything additionally.

Please download the Suspicious File Packer from here:
http://www.safer-net...g/files/sfp.zip
Unzip it to the desktop and run it.

Paste the following list of bad files into the Suspicious File Packer window:

C:\Windows\System32\nikamdk79.sys
C:\Windows\nikamdk79.sys
C:\nikamdk79.sys
C:\Windows\System32\htibdycc.exe
C:\Windows\htibdycc.exe
C:\htibdycc.exe

Allow SFP to pack the files. This will generate a CAB archive on your desktop. Please email the files to me at

Avohir(at)gmail(dot)com

replace (at) with @ and (dot) with .

Sorry, I'd of never thought you'd want copys of these two files.
After some testing I'd removed both, with no harm to my system.
And it stopped the re-creation in the Registry.

This has fixed all our problems
Thank You so very much
