Hi, I'm new to the forums. I googled looking for some troubleshooting pages or something similar and I stumbled on this site.

I'm not exactly the most computer saavy person in the world, haha.

I have a relatively old laptop I'm borrowing from a friend. One night, I noticed things were running very very slowly, so I went to restart.

Every time I boot up the scandisk starts running. Normally I just cancel out because it runs indefinitely, (maybe that's another problem in and of itself.) However, this time. I couldn't cancel out, nor would it even pretend to run the test. It's not frozen, I can still move around my cursor.

I have no idea what's going on. =/

Any ideas?

Thanks

Boot the PC to safe mode to see what it does, if it starts to run, let it

Look to see if it is a scheduled task error causing it to run
