Need help with HiJackThis Log

I've done steps 1-4...hopefully everything went correctly.
I started this process because I kept getting blank emails through outlook. It started as a couple here and there, then escalated to seven and ten. Last night I did steps 1-4 and it seems as though I have not gotten any more emails since 8pm last night. :tazz:

Also I have noticed that I can run SpyBot (which I have had for a while now) clean my computer, get back on the internet, view a couple of pages, run SpyBot again, and there is more spyware...I think something is on my computer that keeps reloading itself everytime I get on the internet. But I'm no computer expert so hopefully I can get some help from you guys.

Hi wholt3 and Welcome to GeekstoGo!

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
You will first be presented with a warning.
It should look like this

By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
Press enter to continue....
At this point press enter one time.
Next you will see:

Please Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
and then press enter:
At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
- C:\WINDOWS\system32\sstqn.dll
Press Enter to continue with the fix.
Next you will see:

Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum
staff then press enter:
At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):C:\WINDOWS\system32\nqtss.*
This will be the vundo filename spelt backwards. for example if the vundo dll was vundo.dll you would have the user enter odnuv.*
Press Enter to continue with the fix.
The fix will run then HijackThis will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually.
In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {6DD0BC06-4719-4BA3-BEBC-FBAE6A448152} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\sstqn.dll

Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

Empty Recycle Bins
Delete Cookies
Delete Prefetch files
Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

First let me say thank you for you help!

I'm having some problems getting rid of this stuff though. I went through the process that you sent and here's how it went...During the VundoFix operation in Safe Mode, when HiJackThis came up, the first entry on your list to check was not in the registry, everything else was, so I went ahead and checked them and did the Fix. After that step, I went on to reboot. CleanUp seemed to go fine. When I did the ActiveScan I first got this weird popup asking about Outlook. (sorry I accidently closed it so I don't remember exactly what is was asking)

Then I got the following results from ActiveScan:

Have HijackThis fix these

Lets have a deeper look in the System to be sure no leftovers are laying around.

Download WinPFind:
http://www.bleepingc...es/winpfind.php

Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"

Don't use it yet!

Restart in Safe Mode

From the WinPFind folder-> Doubleclick WinPFind.exe and Click "Start Scan"

It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!

One you see "Scan Complete"-> a log (WinPFind.txt) will be automatically generated in the WinPFind folder!

Run MSCONFIG and enable everything in the startup area. To get to MSCONFIG, click on Start -> Run -> type in MSCONFIG -> click OK!

Under the "General" Tab

Make Sure "Normal Startup-load all device drivers and services" has a green tick by it

Click Apply>>Close>>Follow the Prompts to Restart!

Restart Normal and have the PC Scanned here:
F-Secure

You will need to be using Internet Explorer for the Scan to work!

Save the Report it generates

Post back with a fresh HijackThis log and the reports from WinPFind and F-Secure

Have HijackThis fix these 2 entries

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)

O23 - Service: CWShredder Service - Unknown owner - C:\Documents and Settings\Windy Holt\Desktop\cwshredder-1.exe (file missing)

Click Start-> Run-> Type in Services.msc and Click OK

Scroll that list and locate this entry

Machine Debug Manager (MDM)

Right Click that entry and Select Properties-> Click Stop-> Go up and change the Startup Type to Disabled

Click Apply-> OK and Exit the Services Page

Please Install these 2 to add to the Security of the PC!

Hi Cretemonster...everything seems to be working smoothly. I do have a couple of questions...
1) Do I need to turn my system restore back on?
2) What should I keep from the following tools I downloaded:
WinPFind
CWShredder
Plus do I need to keep the Backups folder that is on my desktop?

Move the backups folder to My Documents for now,if in a week or so,everything is still OK,remove the backups folder.

You can delete both WinPFind and CWShredder.

Go ahead and Renable System Restore and restart the PC,this will clear out all old nasty restore points and create a nice new fresh clean one for you to fall back on should you ever need it.

Read through those 3 little black links in my signature to get some extra ideas about how to avoid this in the future.

Make sure you keep your Windows Operating System up to date by visiting Windows Updates regularly to download and install any critical updates and service packs.

Everything has been looking good the past couple of days. I'll be keeping up on the protection of my computer now that I've gone through this and have read up on how to keep my computer safe.
