Greetings wise men!

My PC's browser, IExplorer 6, has been hijacked: my startpage keeps resetting to http://www.search-paga.com/10039/. Despite a lot of effort, I can't solve this problem.
I've gone down the normal routine of Ad-Aware, Spybot, CWShredder, TDS-3 and Norton Antivirus and HiJack This, but to no avail.
Two problems keep appearing:
1) Spybot and CWShredder both detect "CoolWWWsearch.Yexe", both claim they've fixed it, but the problems stay; the files are detected on every consecutive scan.
2) HiJack This detects a number of files concerned with a mysterious "services.exe" in a strange folder C:\windows\inetdata. It claims to delete/ fix the problem, but every time I reboot, the same startpage appears.

I'm clearly at the end of my resources, so any help would be much appreciated. For extra information, this is my log file:

Reset your host file. Click Here to download HostsFileReader. To reset the host file to default, simply open the program, click the "reset default" button, and confirm the changes.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.
Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.
Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\WINDOWS\inetdata

Reboot normally and post a new log.

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

Go to "Control Panel", "System", and on the "General" tab it will have information about your system. If it does not say Service Pack 1 (which I guarantee it doesn't right now) then you don't have it.

-=jonnyrotten=- :tazz: Try this:

Hey, you're totally right. I was convinced that I had SP1, but I seem to have installed only a few minor patches.... Anyway, I'm getting it now, and I'll post a new log soon.

I've used the link you gave me, but it's an English version, so it won't work (I'm Dutch, with a Dutch XP). On the microsoft website I'm automatically promted to install SP2. That's allright to, I guess. Right?

Hmm, well if you install Service Pack 2 while you're still infected you may have bigger problems than you started with. When you go to the Windows Update site you should have see SP1a in the list of updates, keep installing all updates until Service Pack 2 is the only one left in the list and don't install it yet.

I found the update, but I can't install it. My 'product key' seems to be wrong, possibly because I have a copied XP. Any ideas to tackle that problem?
