Hey. I'm usually pretty solid with the internet and computers and have been able to remove or detect all problems up to now. Whatever or however this virus is getting on my computer, where it stores itself and how to remove it is starting to become well beyond me.

Basically I have a recurring virus. It seems to in some way damage system settings, causing the computer to hang (become totally unresponsive to all commands) at incresingly smaller intervals. Initially it takes a few minuets to hang, then only a few seconds and so forth. Eventually the entire system is unable to boot from any device, not the harddrive, not CD and not floppy. The BIOS setup (by pressing DEL when your computer initially turns on) also seems corrupted. Numbers become symbols or change position and generally corrupt the screen.

So far I'v tried reseting my BIOS manually, by wiping it when I move the sleeve on the motherboard pins and remove the motherboard battery. I'v removed the RAM, I'v formatted and Low level formatted my harddrive. I had several forms of protection, the latest WinXP service pack and AV virus scanner on when this began to happen. It happens overnight, suddenly making the computer hang the next day.

This is the third time, after believing I had removed it several times, that this has happened. Does anyone know what this is? Or how to get rid of it?

I have no way to post a HJT as my computer wont run long enough. I'm currently posting from another computer.

The only downloads I make are from AZURUS, a P2P programme. I do not open any ports to let this software run and I scan every download I make. I never surf or use pornography/hacking/malware sites of any kind.

Help would be much appriciated, and may be rewarded by a cookie.
