Rotating an Avi

Please could you point me in the right direction?
I need a simple programme that can rotate Avi's. It would be super if this bit of software that you recommend is free!

Windows Movie Maker 5.1 (comes with windows XP and/or Service pack 2).

Import video.
Drag video to timeline.
Click Tools - Video Effects.
Look for "rotate 90"
Click and rag rotate 90 to the video on the timeline.
Click File - Save Movie File.
Click My Computer and next.
Type in name of movie Click next.
Click other settings option. and click DV avi (PAL) if in austrlaia, UK, and some other countries, if in USA click DV avil(NTSC).
Click next and tada!

Hello,

The very useful free video tool "VirtualDub" can do this as well and is nice to have for many tasks that arise when working with digital video.

I can give step-by-step instructions once I am done with work.

One more question...How can you rotate .mov files. I don't have the full version of Quick Time.

Hello,

The way I do is to convert them to avi then use either WMM or Virtuldub to rotate them. There is a great free program for converting quicktime to avi called "Rad Video Tools" and you can check out it's page at videohelp.com with the link below:
