I currently have a Dell 8300 which has a DVD player and a CD-R/RW burner. I was thinking about upgrading the CD-R/RW burner to a DVD-R/RW +R/RW CD-R/RW. I was wondering, do I uninstall the old burner driver then install the new DVD-R/RW burner driver? Or does Windows XP Pro (OEM) take care of it automatically?

Thank you.

Hi. My experience having swapped out or installed new cd/dvd drives is that it is pretty much plug and play. Take the old one out, put the new one in. That is all I have ever had to do. This does not eliminate the possibility that you may need to do more if plug and play does not work in your case.
