Just installed(correctly) an XFX geforce 6600gt. Im running an intel P4 2.8 with 512 mem. and a thermaltake 480w PSU. Now that the video is running smoothly, the sound has suffered. The volume is so low in windows that i can hardly hear, and when running games its crackly and quiet and such. I know this has to do with the video card/power supply but i dont know how to fix it.

By chance did you check to see if they are sharing the same IRQ?

I would download the latest drivers for the sound card and check the manufacturers website to see if you have the latest drivers for the video card.

You can also run dxdiag and post the results. Go to start, then run and type dxdiag....but I would check and make sure you have the latest drivers first.
