Laptop freezes while playing Games

Hi. I have an Acer TravelMate TM4402 WLMi laptop with the turion 64 bit processor and Radeon x700 gpu. This problem is a strange one. The games will play just fine when on battery mode, but will freeze very quickly when plugged in. The games I have tested thus far: Fable, Guild Wars, and CS: source. I would update the drivers if I could, but Acer kind of sucks about that. Also, my ati tool has options to change settings for when a battery is in use, and I get the same error whether it's enabled or disabled. I love my desktop, but I would love it if my laptop could play the same games when plugged in. This this is only a few weeks old, I wonder if it's some kind of hardware issue...or maybe driver crap. I'm not really sure, i'm just sad that it doesn't work right :tazz:

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. If the laptop is only a few weeks old, it is probably under warranty. I would take this question to Acer tech support before doing anything else.
