My dvd writer stopped reading any disk. I insert an disk and try to open, and get a message to insert disk. My computer on any software will see the drive. The drive had been working fine, reading or writing. I have written disk using dvd shrink. The last time it worked I used Nero.
Thanks

I check and no questions marks. I have a Benq DW1620 pro, I went to their site and downloaded the latest firmware. I haven't tried installing it yet. Would that help? While searching , I found something about removing the upper and lowerfilters?

you m ay want to keep those instructions you found for getting rid of the upper and lower filter handy..just in case (that seems to be a common issue)
