I'm not sure what I got into but I must've wandered down a dark alley of the Internet, because I've been getting all these crazy IE pop-up windows and I've run all the scans and they've all come up clean.

I think I solved the problem - I read something about running Spy Sweeper and enabling the rootkit feature. It said it found a potential rootkit but had problems deleting it - I notice which file it was coming from and so I went in under safe mode and nuked most of the files that way. Then when I scanned it again it found a few little files that it was able to remove. So far it all seems better - no more blue screen.
