I am hoping you can help. When I run any virus scan, it freezes and the whole computer does also. I am using Mc afee and it freezes at $hf_mig$\KB896428\update\updspapi . I have tried other virus scans and the same happens.

Also I have tried to deframent and there are 2 files which wont defrag and I wondered if this might be the problem. Perhaps blocking the scan. I cant do system restore as it is not working.

I have tried free defragmenters like perfectdisc etc. My opening screen has now also changed to msn for some reason and I am getting error pop ups. I have been trying for over a week now.

I hope you can help. I am not brilliant on this so am hoping any advice is really easy to understand !

I did a Hijack this as below

Please go here: Malware Removal Guide

Run all the programmes as advised then post a current Hijack This Log in a new topic in the Malware Forum

For the purpose of accurate malware analasys, Hijack This Logs are only dealt with in the malware forum, posting them elsewhere will result in a delayed response

If you are unable to run any of the programmes, please ask for advice in the Malware Forum

The HJT Log you have posted is incomplete, there will be a lot of entries with numbers in front, usually finishing with 023 entries
