Is GhostSurf something you've installed? I'm guessing an icon would appear while it's active.

Hi

Hi 4fun

1) Please make sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 127.0.0.1:7212
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName = Liens
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

2) Download the Hoster from here. Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program. This will restore the original Hosts file.

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. ;)

ah no , after having problem with this icon , I installed this "ghostsurf" to try resolving the problem, but it didn't work ... So , I'm sure it isn't caused by this program .
I'm wondering if this icon is normal when I'm using a router and wi fi ? It's strange that after all of your and...my efforts, this icon persists !!
It's driving me crazy !!!
Thanks you guys a lot .

Hi 4fun

Your firewall has been disabled, you must fix this first now Urgent
O23 - Service: Trend Micro Personal Firewall - Unknown - C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Internet Security\PccPfw.exe (file missing)

1) You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

2) Be sure you're able to view hidden files,

3) Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O23 - Service: Trend Micro Personal Firewall - Unknown - C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Internet Security\PccPfw.exe (file missing)

O23 - Service: Telnet - Unknown - C:\WINDOWS\System32\tlntsvr.exe

4) Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Please use windows explorer to find the following files in bold

C:\WINDOWS\System32\ tlntsvr.exe <-Delete this file

5) Reboot your PC.

6) Please run a free online virus scan here.(tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):

7)Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and we'll remove what's left.

I was'n't able to run the Safe mode by taping the F8 key , so I decided using the System Configuration Utility method of Symantec(msconfig.exe) . And all of your propositions were done . But I got a problem when turning back to the normal mode : the Sys.Config.Util window started up which told me to choose the normal restart in the tab General in order to restar Windows in the normal way . I did that , but after restaring , I was entered in the safe mode !!!! And when i turned back to the normal mode , that S.C.U window poped up , and so on .....(hope you guys understand my French English)
Argg..., what a day !! So many problems !
Thank you very much ! Thank you .

Hi 4fun

You are using two virus programs with there own Firewalls this can lead to program conflicts.
It is also possible that the windows firewalls is also still working.

Please use one virus and firewall programs, you will need to uninstall one of the programs and turn of the windows firewall

This has also not been very helpful to the helpers on this site with every new log, a new program has been added.

So please chose which program you want to use.

ah, I'm sorry , I didn't know that it wasn't expected to have new program in each log , excuse me !!!
But my PC Cillin don't have the firewall , i don't know why . During every installaltion , until the installation of the firewall , it stops !!! That's the reason why I installed another firewall , even though it would make my PC more slow ! I either don't like installing so much programs in my PC . In fact , I'm just using the Anti virus of PC Cillin and the firewall of McAfree , not 2 antivirus programs . And the Window firewall is deactivated .
If I still make some errors , please tell me . But you're assured that I'm only using one anti virus and one firewall .
Thanks a lot .
