I have 2 Brother laser 1470N printers. They are both on our network with static IPs. They will go to sleep after a period of time. My users have to power them off and on to get the printers back on line. I've sent 2 emails to Brother tech support and haven't received any response. I've tried loading the latest firmware and searched thru the settings but haven't had any luck. I would like to disable this function if possible.

I should have mentioned that I've tried their manuals. I can't find anything that clearly addresses the problem I am having.

Brother laser 1470N printers
10th Nov-2005

Try Printer’s Properties Page & see if you have a [Power Management] Tab

Check Printer Port Setup – [SPP] – [EPP] – [ECP] – [ECP + EPP] -

Is your Network USB – Printer USB – Could be a USB Issue -
This could also be an Issue with [Network] Software – again search for [Power Management]

Also Laser Printers when [Awaking] draw a slug of AMPS – may be [Bombing/Glitching] Network..

Also USB – may have Issues with disconnecting -

Check Link below –

Thanks, Jack123. The printer is connected to the network by ethernet. I found a time out setting in the TCP configuration and tried setting that to 1440 min. Cound't find any reference to power management.
