The TCMonitor did not find any Trojans, but it keeps giving me an alarm that says that "the data within an item has changed." It is HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Then, when I click to "examine data" it says:
untd_recovery=C:\Program Files\NetZero\qsacc\x1exec.exe

I keep getting new pop ups now for free Spyware scans, etc. I did not get these before.

Help! I am getting more pop ups than ever now, one right after the other! Plus, I have a siren going off and I don't know how to turn it off! I search/toolbar was installed in my IE, but I was able to remove it.

I hope I am not saying this prematurely, but I think I am OK. No pop ups, no slow downs, (crossing my fingers!!) I reinstalled Netzero and the pop up blocker started working. I ran AdAware and Search & Destroy again. Also, I had the Elite Toolbar, but I think I was able to remove it through HiJack. Here's my new HiJack file. How does it look?

Ok, we're going to try this a different way. Here's the first part of the instructions:

Launch Notepad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as Export.bat and save it on your Desktop.

cd\
regedit /e HKCURun.txt "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
regedit /e HKLMRun.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"

copy HKLMRun.txt + HKCURun.txt = Output.txt
notepad Output.txt


Locate Export.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. This will open Notepad with some text in it. Post that back here.

Ok, I think I may have a fix for the ISTsvc, but I'm getting it checked right now to make sure it's ok. Hang in there with me.

In the meantime follow these instructions:

Please download "Del Domain" from here:

http://www.geekstogo...=download&id=40

Download it to your desktop or somewhere you will find it. Extract the .inf file from the .zip file you just downloaded. Now right click "Deldomains.inf" and click "Install". It will not appear to have done anything, thats ok. Next step.

Reset your host file. Click Here to download HostsFileReader. To reset the host file to default, simply open the program, click the "reset default" button, and confirm the changes.

Now use Hijack This to remove these entries.

Hahahaha! Yaaaaay! Finally got rid of that ISTsvc. It's been a long time for me trying to figure a way to remove that thing. The log looks great!

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use) Click Here.

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox Posted Image.
2. Install Sun's Java. It's much more secure than Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine .

It's okay to delete the Hijack This folder if everything is working okay.

After doing all these, your system will be thoroughly protected from future threats. ;)
