When I open internet explorer I often get a winfixer pop up and occasionally get a windows anitvirus update popup. I am running windows xp office edition. Please help me get rid of these pop ups...

Run HijackThis

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
• This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.

Those are some entries that are unlikely you will even notice are gone.

Also, go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter
and run it on all your hard drives.

This should make a good size difference in the speed it takes to boot up your computer, and increase overall speed.
