Booting up brings up the dialogue user name and password window, but I am unable to input password. This also happens in safe mode. I have tried to access the recover mode from the CD but keep getting that same window problem. Help!:tazz:

Hi khaila! Welcome to G2G!

Boot into SAFE MODE and log in as the ADMINISTRATOR. Then go to START-->CONTROL PANEL, double-click on USER ACCOUNTS. Select the user account that you can't input the password on, and click CHANGE PASSWORD. Make sure the password and confirm password boxes are empty and hit OK/APPLY. Then reboot your computer and log in with that account.

When I booted up this morning everything was ok. Log on complete. There are ghosts in my system. Other strange stuff happening. I am scanning, defragging and running all the stuff trying to get things operating. DVD burner doesn't work now. Thought there was a fluxuating power supply but doesn't show up in log. Can't do any back up. Very worrisome.

DVD-Burner doesn't work at all? I mean it doesn't even show up in MY COMPUTER or DEVICE MANAGER?
